HARI SELDON
•Updated control system focusing more on squads and not on individual soldiers How does this work? What commands are available for squad control? •Unique terrain modeling enhances the fidelity of the infantry combat simulation Does that mean the AI x-ray spotting has been fixed? •An all new Strategic game mode greatly enhances the experience of the tactical battles How does this work? What size are the tactical maps? What size units are deployed during the strategic game? If they are regimental size, does TOW then take a company from the deployed regiment to resolve a tactical battle? Does the outcome of the company level action dictate who won the strategic battle? Sneaksie
By default you order entire squad and not individual soldiers. There are some new commands like 'keep speed' (tanks won't get ahead of infantry). Don't know about spotting, there were a lot of changes in many systems. An article about new fragmentation damage simulation and improving infantry survivability will be published soon. Tactical maps have the same 4 sq.km. size, unit size depends on the generated scenario. You move several battlegroups on the map of Korea and when it engages in battle you deploy some of the troops of current battlegroup. If a battlegroup loses a battle, it retreats. They can be eliminated by encirclement; defeating an already decimated group could also destroy it.

(ie 1st Battalion 432 RCT, 28th Division) How do we "deploy some of the troops of current battlegroup", can we say we want COMPANY A, 1st Battalion, 432 RCT, 28th division or do we pick individual squads/vehicles? In other words, are the battlegroups in the strategic game actual formations or are they merely pools of individual squads / vehicles which can be drawn from for the tactical battle with no regard to historical unit frontages and densities? If they are not actual formations, I think I will pass on TOW3.
GI Jas
in tow 2 kursk you could re-use veteran unit squads in future battles so I assume they are the same here. not sure about historical pools.
Sneaksie
Battlegroups force pools are similar to Kursk ones except here you have many of them and you are likely to run out of, say, tanks. They were made with historical equipment in mind, so you won't have tanks in infantry regiment and so on.
