A Canadian Cat
Sorry everyone but my origonal post contained lots of errors creating the links in forum speak. Corrected below: It seems I cannot post a reply to the original thread CMBO/CMBB Anthology of useful posts! so I'll post my update in a new one. I just discovered this game and found the above thread. I sure looked like a wonderful collection of useful stuff but none of the links worked. It seems some forum maintenance meant the links no longer work. I searched and found what I feel are probably most of the articles. A few I could not find and some seemed to have more then one relevant thread. Anyway here are the topics from the original updated with working links: A Radical New Approach to the Meeting Engagement Advance to Contact - Techniques Advancing troops Air attack warnings <not found> Ambush markers Ambush markers 2 Ammo Conservation Tips Armor vs Armor tactics Armor vs Armor tactics 2 Arty targets <not found> Assaulting a town (night) AT Gun Usage AT guns and teams <not found> AT Guns in an Offensive Role AT Guns in an Offensive Role 2 AT Guns in defense AT Guns vs Tanks duel Avoiding traffic jams Avoiding traffic jams 2 Barbed wire & using TRPs <not found> Beating the AI <not found> Best tank Bogging Building assault tactics Captured Units Captured Units 2 Captured Units 3 Captured Units 4 Defending against artillery in a town Defending Defending 2 Defending 3 Defense tactics Defensive tactics for artillery bombardment Embarking Guns <not found> Entering buildings Exiting units FAQ <not found> Fighting in cities <not found> Finding MP games Flame Throwers Foxholes General Strategies for MP <not found> German Infantry in the Closed Defense Going Hull Down Going Hull Down 2 Going Hull Down 3 Guns to kill infantry <not found> Halftrack and Armored Car uses HHQ Units and Ambushes <not fouund> Company / Battalion HQ's Hiding Tanks HMG vs. MMG and LMG <not found> How to break contact How to use smoke effectively Killing Armor with Infantry <not found> Killing Pillboxes Limbering guns <not found> Massing firepower <not found> Meeting Engagement Tactics MGs on the Attack Morale affects More on command bonuses <not found> Mortar Targeting Mortar Targeting 2 Mortars and HQ <not found> Mortars with HQ <not found> Mortars <not found> Moving tanks MP Lessons <not found> Night game tactics Offensive Consolidation Leaving the Armor Free Panzerschrek unit usage Picking targets <not found> Placement of AT Guns <not found> Platoon on defense <not found> Priest usage Probability of mine kills <not found> Proper Recon <not found> Purchasing Arty Rifle squads and buildings Rushing Tactics Scoring <not found> Sharp Shooters Sharpshooters Sneak or crawl Sneak or crawl 2 Some tips for newbie defenders Sound Map Splitting squads Splitting squads 2 Spotting enemy AT Guns Squad spacing Stone Walls Suppressing and taking positions <not found> Taking Bridges Takings out MGs with infantry <not found> Tank Techniques Tank vs Tank engagements Advice please The Priest <not found> Tips on Hiding Troop purchasings levels <not found> TRPs Tutorial - Tank vs. Tank Using an AT team <not found> Company HQ Leadership Bonuses (was Using CC bonuses) Using hunt with tanks Using Mortars WarGamer's FAQ <not found> Which unit to shoot at first Withdrawal on The Attack (staying Flexible) Withdrawal Withdrawal 2 Now I have to start reading them fully. Michael Emrys
Wow! You put some work into this. I'm impressed. You do know that CM:BN will be coming out before too long, don't you? Maybe you can start a new thread of this type in that forum when the proper time arrives. It would be much appreciated. Michael

A Canadian Cat
How do I edit posts? I just realized that many of the links towards the end of my post have an extra http stuck on them so they don't work properly. Ian
Michael Emrys
There is a time limit. After that has expired, you can no longer edit your own posts. What you can do is to quote yourself and correct the bad links in the new posts. Michael

A Canadian Cat
... You do know that CM:BN will be coming out before too long, don't you? Maybe you can start a new thread of this type in that forum when the proper time arrives.... Yes, I know that's how I found out about the older games. Do you think the advice from the CMBO, CMBB and CMAK games will apply to the new game? Ian
A Canadian Cat
There is a time limit. After that has expired, you can no longer edit your own posts.... Is it possible for an admin to manually truncate the original post so this thread does not start off with incorrectly formatted links? I have fixed them in a follow on post. Michael Emrys
Do you think the advice from the CMBO, CMBB and CMAK games will apply to the new game? In some cases. Broad tactical principles will still apply as the older games were for the most part true to them. Certain game-specific quirks will be different though and only time will tell just what those are. Reading the DARs of Elvis and JonS you might notice some differences. Michael
Michael Emrys
Is it possible for an admin to manually truncate the original post so this thread does not start off with incorrectly formatted links? I have fixed them in a follow on post. I believe so. You might send a PM to Moon, the forum admin with an explanation and request. Some of the original post might have to remain as a place holder though. But the incorrect links can be deleted. Michael
