Ryan Crierie
The game played normally on my Dell 8100 P IV with an ATI Radeon before, but today, an odd error popped up. Despite repeated installs/uninstalls, it hasn't been solved. When I begin the action phase of the game, if I click on the "fast forward" button, garbage appears such as "0:00-12:34" in the timer, and the turn never ends. The only solution to this problem is to play each turn in real time all the way.
Schrullenhaft
I can't recall if a video driver change would help with this problem or not. Do you know which version of the ATI Radeon drivers that you're running ? You can get some of the latest ones from Rage 3D Rage 3D (drivers are located in the upper right hand corner - select the correct OS): http://www.rage3d.com Do you happen to have other programs or utilities running in the background when you're playing CM ? Have you shut down any of these programs (such as anti-virus or system utilies, browsers, email clients, etc.) ?
Ryan Crierie
I've tried shutting down everything, but it doesn't work, including antivirus proggies. The really WEIRD thing is sometimes it plays perfectly, with nary a problem, and other times, it has this problem:
Schrullenhaft
For those times that the turn 'never ends' can you exit the game and reload that turn ? Will it produce the same problem ? Do you know what other programs and utilities get loaded up at boot on your computer ? What OS are you running (Windows ME) ?
