Mord
I just switched my AGP ATI 128 Rage Fury for a PCI Voodoo4 4550 PCI card.Because of the ATI card's lack of handling Fog among other things. I have a few questions. 1. I was under the impression that I could have both cards installed because of the different slots they occupy. Can I only have one card on my comp? I have seen games where it asks which Display driver I'd like to use so I figured I could have two installed. 2.If I can't have two cards, would I have been better off with getting the Voodoo as an AGP card? Is there a difference as far as performance goes between PCI and AGP? Is the AGP card more exspensive than the PCI? Thanks for your help. BeWary
Hey Mord, You can have 2 video cards installed. The question is whether your games will detect both of them and give you a choice of which one you want to use. I don't know if CM does that or not. As far as PCI vs. AGP, I've read that the PCI bus is not really taxed to its limit currently, so in other words, with most current games, you won't really see a difference between AGP and PCI cards. In the future, yes, so if you just want one video card, you may want to exchange the PCI Voodoo for an AGP if that is still possible. You'll most likely get better performance with it in future games, and you'll have less headaches with getting games to run correctly (probably). BeWary ------------------ "Liberty or Death?"
