UnionRail
Ok, I just got Combat Mission Shock Force today and I got it from amazon and they gave me the Paradox version. When I got the the Patch 1.10v load up and started the game it came up with the licence window. So I went back and looked and could not find any licence code to put in. So do I have to buy the 1.21v or am I stuck with 1.0v?
BFCElvis
You might be. If you bought the Paradox release of the game they stopped patching the game. But once you buy the 1.21 patch you will be good to for any CMSF patch that comes out. There will be at least one more when NATO is released. Also, if you were to purchase either the Marine or British module that will also get you patched up for good.
Schrullenhaft
Sounds like you installed the wrong patch for your Paradox version. You need to download the Paradox (Retail) Patch for 1.10 (make sure to go to the 'Paradox (Retail) Patch' section - otherwise you will download the wrong patch). Once you've updated to 1.10, then you can update to Paradox (Retail) v.1.20 patch. Again, make sure that you go down to the links underneath the 'Paradox (Retail) v.1.20 patch' section to download the correct files. You should NOT be asked for an eLicense key if you use the correct patches. Paradox stopped supporting CMSF after the 1.20 patch. As Elvis mentioned, you can purchase the '1.21 Retail Patch' (for US$1.00) that will convert your Paradox copy to a Battlefront eLicense copy. You will however want to have your Paradox copy patched to 1.10 BEFORE applying this patch if you do go this route.

Schrullenhaft
What Windows version are you running and what security software (anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-malware/firewall/internet-security) do you have installed ? Some security software causes problems with eLicense, so you will have to be specific on what you have installed. As for Windows versions, if you're running Windows Vista or Windows 7 I highly recommend that you run the game by right-clicking on the launching shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator" from the popup menu. Something else you have to watch out for is DEP (Data Execution Prevention), which is actually a hardware feature of your CPU or it is a feature that can somewhat be emulated by Windows itself. Here's our Knowledgebase article on DEP. What the article is primarily suggesting is that you enable DEP and then set exceptions for CMSF and the eLicense software 'Runservice.exe'.

Schrullenhaft
I'm not aware of any particular problems with the Norton family of security software, but there are quite a few variants. Do you have anything else installed (besides Microsoft Defender) ? I suggest trying the DEP changes I mentioned earlier by following the link I posted to our Knowlegebase. A number of users with Windows 7 have had to enable DEP to allow the eLicense software to run properly. Remember to add '\Windows\Runservice.exe'. Have you been able to actually license the patch yet ? The 'Runservice.exe' will not exist UNTIL you actually successfully license the 1.21 patch. You should get a license dialog box when you attempt to run CMSF after patching it. Also, I'm not aware of the exact file name that Paradox uses for their distribution of CMSF, but make sure that you are attempting to launch the executable 'CM Shock Force.exe' which is definitely the name of the CMSF executable once the 1.21 patch has been applied.
