Sergei
Radar guns are so passé. Meanwhile, it is a normal day in Norway...
John Kettler
Sergei, Oscar Foxtrot Sierra! Made my day and much more impressive than a spike strip! Regards, John Kettler
souldierz
LOL I'd hate to turn a corner and see a Recoiless staring at me.Get a stop sign, its safer and more environmentally friendly:p As for the second one, I think that falls in the "Don't Ask, Don't tell" category.:confused: On another note that's some nice looking lands.
hoolaman
As long as the radar gun isn't hooked up to the recoilless gun. I wonder how long those guys waited for the streetview car in wetsuits and fins?
Sergei
While that Norwegian sequence was funny, Finns also greeted the Google car in their own little ways...
Tero
While that Norwegian sequence was funny, Finns also greeted the Google car in their own little ways... And after Google the Register will be sued for invasion of privacy for not deleting the address from its reporting......
John Kettler
Sergei, Pretty trippy! Am curious as to how the Street View thing works. Clearly, it isn't a satellite image, so where's the camera located? Regards, John Kettler

Sergei
Ignore the jackasses, here's a video of how Google really did it.
souldierz
They roamed every street in a van with a camera on top of it capable of seeing 360 degrees.Right now as we type there's people all over the world driving these things everywhere on every road. They went in front of my house and they now have Ottawa and some surrounding town and cities around where I live fully mapped out in 3d.It's incredible stuff I can zoom in on my door and read my address.
Sergei
The best part about Google Street View, for us anyway, is that Normandy (and Holland and parts of Germany) is quite well mapped by these cars. Not necessarily every corner, but especially in Cotentin the coverage is really nice. And here's Pegasus Bridge. It's as if Google's bosses were wargamers themselves!
Elmar Bijlsma
They recently drove trough the street I lived in as I walked through it, me the scruffiest and unkempt I have been in ages, as luck would have it. It's not up yet, alas. Still it's kinda fun, and there's lots of fun stuff to be seen. An not just the Red Light district. A body, in Mexico, a Dutch firetruck knocking an old lady of her bike, etc, etc.
Lethaface
John, It is just a simple car with a mounted panorama camera. Have seen the thing drive around myself in The Netherlands. Was surprised to see it even drove through Compton, LA (6 in them morning). Some fun stuff to watch in there.
