Mark Cerull
I started to install the game from my "E" drive and after a few moments the screen crashed and I was forced to restart the computer. When I attempted to delete the files and start over, it would only allow me to repair modify and remove, none of which were sucessful. I then changed to my "D" drive and I had the same problem. The "D" drive is my CD burner while the "E" drive is the standard CD-ROM drive. I can play the game from the CD, without anything on the hardrive, but I won't be able to do any MOD stuff, right. What the heck is a guy to do now? Mark
Schrullenhaft
I'm not sure why you were limited to those options in the installer. You can delete all the files in your C:\WINDOWS\TEMP directory to see if this helps or not. Otherwise I'd suggest manually copying the files from either CD drive (the faster 'reader' would probably be the best suggestion). Other than a couple of setup files (which aren't necessary to run CMBO, but it doesn't matter if you copy them or not) you can copy all of the files (and directories - in the same structure as they are on the CD) to the directory of your choice. If your afraid that there was some corruption of your old files you can delete the entire C:\PROGRAM FILES\CMBO directory.
Mark Cerull
I copied all the files on the CD to the CMBO directory I created. I went to open the game from that directory and I received the following error message: ".DLL file openplay.dll was not found" Now what? Schrullenhaft
What version of CMBO is on your CD ? If it is less than 1.12 you'll probably want to apply the patch, which adds .DLLs for DirectX's OpenPlay. The only way I can imagine that you would receive that error is if your CD has a version that was less than 1.12, but you kept the 1.12 executable from a previous patching and launched that to play CM. Mark Cerull
Well, I found that "DLL" file on the CD, which is ver 1.12 by the way. The game ran fine without any problems. So far anyway. Thank you for your help. Mark
