deadeye3 Posted January 4, 2001 Share Posted January 4, 2001 In a real recent game I had a small 2 shot battle between an M4 Sherman (me) and a Sturm IIIG (opponent). The distance was 30 meters. Sturm (sitting 10 degrees or so lower than the Sherman) gets off the first shot. Sherman takes a side upper hull penetration no serious damage. Sherman fires and the Sturm IIIG takes an upper hull hit knocked out. The stats of these two vehicles clearly show that the sturm is better in armor quality, and better percentages in armor than the Sherman. it even has a better armor peiring rating by like 30 points. So my question is, other than pure luck, why would the Sherman prevail? Thx for taking this seriously, an answer that makes sense may get my opponent playing the game again rather than wanting to quit wondering if he'll ever get the hang of this.
