SGFC
whenever I load Combat Mission the monitor goes to a very large resolution, thus making it impossible to see everything below the combat screen. I am running Mac OS 9 on a G3 desktop. any help would be appreciated.
kmead
First, go to the System folder, preferences folder, and trash the CMBO prefs and then change your screen size to the max your system can display with 32K colors. Start up CMBO and a new prefs file will be created using the largest possible screen size your graphics card can display. This should take care of your problem. If you have a ATI Rage in your G3 B&W, be sure to install the latest version of OpenGL (1.2.1 IIRC) available here: http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n11545 If you have a G3 beige, I don't recall the graphics card but the latest drivers should still work. Please psot back if this takes care of your problem so we can better assist others in the future. Thanks
SGFC
Thank you. That took care of things, although it is somewhat of a hassle to change monitor resolutions everytime I want to play. However, the game itself is worth it. Thanks again.
kmead
I may be mistaken, but I believe that CMBO will automatically change the screen resolution as it is starting up, so you don't need to change. Thanks for reposting.
Gyrene
kmead, the game will not always change resolutions on the Mac. I find myself having to go to the control strip and changing the res before I play. (I'm limited to 800X600) Gyrene
kmead
Thanks for the learning, I haven't had to do anything on my iMac. Sorry if my advice wnds up being erroneous, but do try it anyway, it may work for you, computers are not nearly the compliant beasts we assume they are....
