Xerxes the Great Posted July 18, 2009 Share Posted July 18, 2009 I downloaded the demo and like it a lot with the exception of map size and supported graphics resolution. There are multiple threads about the limited 2x2km map size but I couldn't find any thread discussing availability of 2560x1600 resolution in the official copy. I have a 30" monitor with dual GTX-295 video cards that is capable of running the most demanding games at highest graphic settings including Total War "empire" and Crysis. To me, playing an RTS game on a 30" monitor at 2560x1600 is an entire different experience from the usual 1920x1200 with 24" monitors since I run both setups at my HQ! I need to know if 2560x1600 is supported in this game. Please if you own the official copy, check the video settings and let me know if this is one of the supported resolutions in the game. I realize 30" monitors are still high priced but the difference between a 2560x1600 on 30" versus 1920x1200 on 24" is like comparing a Tiger II to a Sherman M4!! Moderators, do you know whether 2560x1600 supported in the official game or even planned to be supported in future patches? The demo version only supports up to 1920x1200. Over and out. I take it from your response that the official game doesn't support 2560x1600. Unless you don't own the official copy and are just jamming the communications! Over and out. Xerxes the Great Posted July 28, 2009 Author Share Posted July 28, 2009 Update: Using latest Nvidia drivers, I am able to load the demo and see the 2560x1600 option in the resolution choice. When I select this option, a dialogue box asks me to restart the game. When I do that, it goes back to 1024x768 default setting. I can never get the 2560x1600 or any other resolution to stick and every time it defaults back to 1024x768. I am running Vista 64-bit. I am this close <-> to buying the game but if this resolution bug exists in the official game, it would drive me insane and I wouldn't even dare to buy it now. Am I missing something?
