Hetzer38
I tried for two hours (or so)to fix the problem by browsing / searching this forum - no luck! I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop, 1.40 GHZ with ATI Radeon XPRESS 200M Series graphic card, running with Windows XP. 1024 x 768 at 60Hz is the best resolution I can choose. When I delete the CMBB pref-file and set my desktop to a higher resolution, the desktop expands beyond the screen. Looks like this: Only in Windows-Paint I can see the whole screen, on desktop I can only see things within the red square, but I can see the rest as well, when I move the mouse to the corners... When I start a new CMBB game (previously deleted CMBB prefs), with desktop resolution set to 1600 x 1200, I still can only choose 1024x768x60 (and lower). How can I fix this? Please help!
Schrullenhaft
Your increasing your desktop display to 1600x1200, correct ? Is this entire resolution visible on your laptop or do you have to scroll around like you do in CMBB ? 1600x1200 is the maximum resolution that CMx1 series will support. If you're able to see that ('fully') on your desktop, then CMBB should be able to display it. Is 1024x768 @ 60Hz the first resolution you see when you go through the resolution selection process when your desktop is at 1600x1200 ? Which Catalyst driver version do you have installed ? Within the Catalyst Control Center or the Advanced tabs of the Display control panel there should be something for 'Displays'. In here is where you define what your monitor is capable of. Often the default will be 1024x768 @ 60Hz. With this setting you get a 'virtual desktop' with anything over 1024x768. Increasing the display settings here should allow you to see the full resolution rather than the scrolling, virtual resolution. I'm not looking at the Catalyst Control Center, so I'm not sure if there are some 3D specific resolution settings within there or not.
Hetzer38
Schrullenhaft, thank you very much for answering to my question ! Is 1024x768 @ 60Hz the first resolution you see when you go through the resolution selection process when your desktop is at 1600x1200 ?I'm screwed ! Can't see it fully! And yes, 1024x768 @ 60Hz is the first resolution to choose from when my desktop is set to 1600x1200...damn! Which Catalyst driver version do you have installed ? I'm not looking at the Catalyst Control Center, so I'm not sure if there are some 3D specific resolution settings within there or not. I really tried everything (I think) with the Catalyst control center...but I don't find the solution...oh my...could you please give me another hint ?
Redwolf
CM will certainly not support these virtual/panning resolutions.
Hetzer38
Damn! So there's Zero chance to trick these virtual/panning/whatever resolutions into doing what I want ?

You already need the display edges for camera movement. So you cannot use them for panning.
