MichaelU
I updated to the 1.10 Battlefront patch, but when I tried to install the 1.11 patch, I got the following message when installing the file CM Shock Force.exe: An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 2. The system cannot find the file specified. If I abort the installation, the file is now missing and the program won't load at all.
Moon
Are you installing the patch in the right place? It needs to go into the same directory as the base game.
MichaelU
Yep, I'm just letting it install into the default C:\Program Files\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force directory. It deletes the 1.10 exe, and then throws up the error message, so I have to reinstall the game to get it back to 1.10. Looks like Hev has the same problem that I do.

Moon
Do you have Vista? Are you running the patch as "Run as admin"? Please contact support@battlefront.com for further support.
Hev
Xp, im interested to know what MichaelU is running
Battlefront.com
Odd! This is the first install problem we've heard of. There must be something specific to your machines that is causing the problem. No idea (yet) what that might be! We're looking into it. MarkEzra
Please can anyone help me???? Just in case try his: Open your exisiting CMSF file. Do you find a file inside with the same name? If so, open it and copy/past it's contents to your original CMSF file. That should overwrite and update you. This happens when you are a bonehead, like me! If there is no file then guys with better (obviously) technical skills are sure to help. Welcome aboard
Madmatt
Try and rename your existing 1.10 CM exe file before you run the new patch. Now rerun the 1.11 patch and see if the error continues. It sounds as if perhaps that one file has been set to READ ONLY and the patch is not being permitted to overwrite it. Let me know if that works or not. MichaelU
Tried renaming the 1.1 exe file before patching, that didn't solve the problem, still got the same error message.

The error would pop up if: a) you installed the patch incorrectly, i.e. in the wrong folder you install the wrong patch, for example if you have a Paradox version of the game (which doesn't use eLicense) and install a Battlefront.com patch (which does, but it can't file the necessary files)
Moon
Tried renaming the 1.1 exe file before patching, that didn't solve the problem, still got the same error message. Have you checked if you have any files (including the downloaded patch) set to READ ONLY?
Hev
The changing the 1.10 exe file name didnt solve my problem and the .exe isnt read only
King_crazy
Yeah its work. I have installed the patch 1.10 (battlefront) and than 1.11(battlefront) I idiot have installed the pacht 1.10 paradox all inclusive, but now the patch 1.11 battlefront! But I have now a next problem the game want a license number? How I get a License number???
Moon
You get a license key when you purchase a game from Battlefront. If you don't have a Battlefront version, then you don't have a key, and in that case you probably installed the wrong patch.
King_crazy
And which patches are right for my game???? I am so angry what this man???? Moon
Look at the box. Does it have the Paradox logo on it? If so, then this is a strong hint that it's the Paradox version There is no 1.11 patch for that version yet (1.10 is the latest) but hopefully soon. The Battlefront version is only sold from here, www.battlefront.com and is not available in stores (not legally anyway).
Mikkey
if you buy Paradox retail version you must install only Paradox patch (current version 1.10)
