SlapHappy
Basically a standard LAW with a warhead designed to take down buildings. My question is will we see this type of behavior with this weapon in the game? Right now, it seems like none of the light anti-armor weapons model this behavior - That is penetrating a structure and then detonating inside for anti-personnel effect. Will this piece of hardware be significantly different from what we have seen so far? Oh, also apparently the 51 mm "knee" mortar is being discontinued for a fairly standard type 60 mm model. At least according to the British military's website.
flamingknives
The LASM behaviour should be similar to the SMAW. The new 60mm mortar can used either in the standard mode or as a commando mortar, just like the 51mm mortar. Given CM:SF's timeframe, use of the 51mm mortar probably makes as much sense.
Combatintman
I guess we'll have to wait and see won't we? The so called 'knee mortar' is on its way out and under a UOR is being replaced by a 60mm mortar and as Flamingknives correctly states it can be used as a standard indirect fire weapon or as a 'commando' weapon. However the 'knee mortar' is quite versatile and was popular until recently because it could be used to break into compounds in Afghanistan.
Dietrich
The new 60mm mortar can used either in the standard mode or as a commando mortar "Commando mortar" = not fitted with a bipod?
flamingknives
"Commando mortar" = not fitted with a bipod? Pretty much. Usually, commando mortars are trigger-fired as well, rather than drop-fired.
akd
GOOD.........................BAD 60mm Mortar...............51mm Mortar Problem solved. (I would generally like to see more use of the equipment variable for support options in the editor.)
