TCP/IP crashes

Recommended Posts

Further to several other people having TCP/IP crashes, I offer this minor bit of consolation if you're using TCP/IP at home. A mate (with an iMac) and I (with an iBook) were connected via an Ethernet Cable. Turn 20, the game crashes with messages about a bad Ethernet connection. Couldn't get the Autosave to restart without it crashing. However, when we opened the file and turned it into a Hotseat game, lo and behold we could keep on playing. I know this is no help to the Internet-connected players, but if you're using Ethernet at home as a way of connecting two computers so you have the luxury of one screen and keyboard per player, then it's workable. Of course, the more sensible option is to SAVE the game at each turn as a back-up.
