Ricochet67
Nice mission, Cpl Steiner. I thoroughly enjoyed it and managed to get a US Total Victory despite some initial bad luck/planning. ***SPOILERS*** I noticed here was a dead zone below the right hand bunker, so I formed up the 3 technicals to provide suppressing fire from the ridge on the right hand bunker while being concealed from the left by the tank wreck. The remaining 4x4s were to dash to the safety of the dead zone. It would've worked too if the T-62 hadn't appeared and KO'd a technical with the blast causing the abandonment of the other 2 technicals. As a result, the full fury of both MG bunkers KO'd one 4x4 and killed several Kurds on the other 3 which made it to safety. Rallying the survivors of the 4x4, they retreated to the ridge and the Kurds who made it below the hill formed up to assault the bunker from the right flank. The terrain wasn't quite WYSIWYG, so sneaking up the flank didn't go as expected with several deaths but at least an RPG team managed to destroy the bunker with a couple well-placed rockets. With the arrival of the US SF, I employed JTAC to call in airstrikes on the T-62, BMPs and remaining bunker. The MG squad hosed the Syrians advancing through the valley causing several casualties and slowing their progress. It could've turned nasty had the squads engaged the JTAC and scout units directly over the hill as I was thin on defenders. The threat of the armoured vehicles advancing into the Kurdish starting position was well done.
