Auto Surrender and stupid AI?

Recommended Posts

Is Autosurrender supposed to work in operations? I played last battle of "21st panzer attack" operation. Had only 4 men left and overall morale 2% over 10 turns. I had to click several times go and wait for after action report. Boring. Of course I could surrender by manually, but I wanted to see what happens.

Anyway, enemy(allied) had 495 men and couple of tanks left against my 50 in the beginning of the battle. I killed most of my men into massive cross-fire, and then AI started to counter attack my poor 20 survivors. AI overrun them, And those 4 men, most of crew from halftrack and trucks escaped. Then AI chased them couple of turns and turned back to defensive positions. OK, that's not unusual, but when battle and operation ended, all of those 495 men and tanks were running for their own end of map. Why? They could have defeated me, or at least stayed in front for good defensive positions. :confused:

Regarding your first question about autosurrender;

- I think it's supposed to work. But remember that there won't be any surrender if there are reinforcements pending.

I suppose you got reinforcements in time for the next battle?

As for the AI pulling back;

Seems a little out of the ordinary...

To pull most troops back while keeping some on watch would be realistic.

Cheers

No, It was last battle, and I didn't got any reinforcements during that battle. Maybe, if operation continued few more battles, I could get some repaired halftracks or truck.
