Breaching Walls with Troops

Recommended Posts

Say I did a search on Breaching walls, the posts were very informative. However it sounds like only big guns can breach walls. Is there a special troop type that is capable of breaching walls like engineers.

I tried having my troops fire at the wall when they had an AT4 or Javalin... they just shot at it with small arms.

So my question is ... Is there a way to breach walls in V.103 with troops?

Thanks for any assistance.

You can breach walls if you're troops are equipped with demolition charges. I think there's a picture of how they look like in the manual. Just use the blast command and place the waypoint after the wall.

Normally they can breach into houses as well, but there is this bug that still prevents from doing this if I'm not mistaken.

I have a MGS 105mm gun shooting the wall or a M1A 120mm. Usually the gap obtained is sufficient for grunts to go through and or strykers and tanks. Otherwise I redo the same, next to the gap to widen it.

I have not succeeded in having a Javelin's team doing the same. They were farther than the minimum meters required ! They just did not shoot !

I have only used the demo on house wall. The grunts did not enter it through the gap, but instead searched and found the door. That was with V 1.02 at the time.Did you have the same ?

Well know I have V.103 and have used the Sryker MSG or the Abrams to punch holes in walls, however they do not carry much ammo, so I try and use them sparingly.

I wish they had demo kits inside the stryker to aquire. Maybe they do, if not it would be nice if at least 1 vehicle in a stryker platoon carried breaching charges.

Im going to set up a test and try and find some grunts with breaching charges.. and assault through the breach to a building. hopefully with V.103 they will go through the breach...and not go all the way around the bloody wall in search for a walk around.
