GeneralTaosChicken
Thanks for the fix. I was getting black screens at startup and then my only option was to reboot. I removed the M$ hotfix as Peckham stated but still had problems, then realized I didn't have the 3082 Nvidia driver. Once I installed that the problem went away. Jack Carr
Here has been my experience with this issue. I will be testing more when I get home. When I have FSAA set at 2X I have the blackout problem. When I have it set to 4X I do not have the blackout problem. My configuration for those interested: AMD XP 2700+ processor Window XP Pro EVGA GForce Ti4600 8x AGP ASUS A7V8X motherboard 1GB of Kingston PC2700 DDR RAM The problem Hotfix is installed on my machine. Again, I will be testing more when I get home. Thanks for all of the help and support.
Jack Carr
Did some testing last night. This problem is definitely connected to how you have anti-aliasing set. 2X gets me blackout while a setting of 4X allows me to see things and simply alt-tab if things are missing.
HarryInk
I love you, Peckham. The minimize/restore blackscreen problem was the one blight on my otherwise happy CMBB dreaming. I followed your ace detective work, have executed your solution, and just minimized and restored my game a few times faultlessly. I want to have your babies!! *L* Well done. Thanks.
Jussi Köhler
I have this problem as well but cant uninstall the Hotfix from Add/Remove Programs. There is no "Remove" button by this, just a link for "Click here for support information" The Hotfix is named Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) Q328310 Is it not possible to remove it cause its a part of SP2? There are a few similar ones that have come with SP2 that can be removed...
