MikoyanPT
Don´t know if it´s new, but just noticed this in 1C site about work beeing done in making buildings enterable in a future add on. http://ww2.games.1c.ru/?action=screenshot&groupid=53 [ December 14, 2007, 06:05 AM: Message edited by: MikoyanPT ]
Manx
Yeah, these were announced and shown a few months back. We really need enterable buildings before this game can start to be taken seriously.
Perchpole
We really need enterable buildings before this game can start to be taken seriously. Agreed. Along with the gaping "black hole" that is indirect fire weapons. Perchpole
track
Are the old maps of the original game beign also redone or are enterable buildings only for the new addon maps?
Gnasher
If you take a look inside the existing buildings you can see that the interiors are all modelled & textured. My guess is that they are all ready to go & that a technical issue stopped 1C putting enterable buildings into the 1st release.
nachinus
track, some months ago I was told in this forums that this new feature would only apply for new maps, they would not redo the old ones at least for the moment. I don't know if that has changed, though.
Mastiff
they better do the old maps or there not going to make the original users buy it.
nachinus
Well, I'm a original user and I'm gonna buy it.
track
The original game is going to look like a real loser in comparison unless the maps get the update as well.
benpark
Are multi-story buildings going to be in the add on? Any urban buildings or settings like Stalingrad, Budapest or Berlin?
Sneaksie
Urban settings are unlikely in near future; amount of buildings on the maps will remain close to present, but they will be enterable.
Copper
Sneaksie, Are you looking at spring for the update release to include buliding you can enter? How about atleast 2 story building? Thanks in advance.
BrassEm
I can see that the infantry in buildings would be a MAJOR programming overhead. (Try doubling the infantry testing routines for instance.) Let alone the graphics implications. (Animations, Animations, Animations.) If we get them. It is by herculian efforts. This game will stand by its merits. Squad tactics would be my priority. If my squad was sitting in a lonesome building on some windswept Russian plain and saw some SU-122's coming up. I would NOT want to be in that building.

However if my vote were heard I'd say hand to hand animations are more important & I'd also like to see gore level upped with things like cadavers flying up in the air if near to an impact during artillery strikes etc

Flanker15
There was an ongoing blog by Sneaksie about addon features but it seems to have dropped off the bottom of the forum. Smoke was planned though. web page
