Disappearing Fog

Started a scenario, great fog showed up. Then, restarted it, no fog, restarted again, no fog...visually that is. Tried the "show fog key", nothing happened. Am I missing something or was there just fog the first time and due to random nature of the beginning of the scenario, I couldn't get it to work?

What video card and drivers are you using ? Is this definitely a scenario or is it an operation (where subsequent battles can have randomly different weather) ?

Try a QB with fog and see if it shows up. Save it and exit the scenario. Reload it and see if the fog is there. If that works, then exit the scenario and exit CM and then restart CM and reload the scenario to see if the problem remains.
