Steve Rogers
I'm making a modern-day custom sound collection and have 70% done, however, on testing I'm getting this crash: The sound files are all .WAV and 16-bit 44Khz - the same as the game files. The files are also renamed exactly the same as the original game files. What am I doing wrong? Is it to do with the length of the files?
ChrisND
When yer done, maybe we can trade. I have a stock of modern day battle sounds done.
n0kn0k
Length of the files doesn't matter. I've used 25mb soundtracks of a few minutes length in my space mod. Clicking a capital started them Kinda neat background music then.
Steve Rogers
I'm being obvious here but just want to be sure I've not missed anything: C:\Program Files\Battlefront\Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg\Campaigns\_Modern\Sound campiagn.ini: #CUSTOM_BITMAPS= 1 #CUSTOM_INTERFACE= 1 #CUSTOM_SOUND= 1 #CUSTOM_LOCALIZATION= 1 Correct? Dude thanks- I'll be posting a scenario with all these sounds in. I only collected what I needed and you've probably got lots more than I have...
Hubert Cater
Hi Steve, is it just the one transport buffer sound that is giving you this problem? If so then it might just be that this particular sound is incompatible (for whatever reason) with SC2. Can you try another sound?

I removed one file after the other and they failed. The format, naming and file placement seem to be in order but it wont accept them. I have a fairly good soundcard too so its not the hardware. I'm actually stumped as to what the problem is. Moonslayer
I had a similar problems with sounds that were stereo 8bit wavs with a sample rate below 11kHz. Mono 8bits seemed to work fine, however.
Hubert Cater
I do remember having problems with one sound way back when as well... I think Moonslayer is on the right track, make sure that the sounds you are trying to use are exactly the same, spec for spec otherwise there might be an issue. If you can't see anything, send me a sound you know does not work and I will try and take a look. Hubert

Hubert Cater
I couldn't see the issue either but then tried re-saving the sample wav you sent with a utility called GoldWave and it worked like a charm. Sent you the reply e-mail last night. Hubert
