Lock up

Recommended Posts

Hi - seems to be a lot of talk about system lock ups - I've read over most of the replies here and don't see on that applies to me. Here's my problem:

The game loads, it asks you to choose screen resolution [i've tried all three] you choose the scenario to play and get to the "flags" screen where it says the 3d is loading. Most of the time I have only gotten this far and it lock up - have to turn the computer off to get anywhere. I have been able to get into the game twice by clicking all the choices extreemly fast - i guess the computer and the game doesn't have time to think about locking up! lol But after I get in and start to move my men, it locks up.

Here is what I have:

300 MHz, Pentium II, 128 MB memory,

STB Velocity 128 3D AGP (Nvida Riva 128)

Current resolution 1024x768 - 32 bit color

Can anyone help - this looks like a killer game - I wish that I could play it.

If you have any suggestions - Please email me: mgreensc@yahoo.com

I am going to try to uninstall and reinstall to see if that make a difference.

Thnaks!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds strange that you can sometimes get in by clicking real fast.

The only suggestion I have off-hand is to check your video driver. I'd suggest some NVidia reference drivers instead of the ones from STB:

nVidia's Reference driver 3.37 for AGP:

http://www.nvidia.com/Products/Drivers.nsf

nVidia Reference driver 3.41:

http://www.reactorcritical.com/download.shtml

Try either one of these and see if it helps.
