Good lord, what had The Guardian come to?

Recommended Posts

The Guardian has two notable reputations:

One; It is prone to the odd howler on the typograpical front, the most famous being mis-spelling its own title, hence grauniad.

Two; It is a favourite of the alleged wishy-washy liberal lefty brigade, with their open-toed sandals, muesli and yoghurt. To the extent that when my Grandfather found my father reading it, he called him a communist.

So you'd put more faith in The Times or The Telegraph?!?!?! Pull your head out of the sand man. Hell you're probably a Daily Mail reader.

I read the guardian because although much of the comment and analysis is left of centre, it is separate from the news, and that is what for me makes it such a good paper.

Their is no slant in the news stories or the choice of story, they are straight and high quality, unlike any Murdoch title where every story and the choice of story often show the editorial bias.

In addition on the comment pages you often get articles from people on the right which are published without comment, and good ones from abroad.

It's also got some very good economics coverage. All reasons why read it even though it's coverage of Scotland is pretty poor....

Peter.

Blair's Labour = Socialism?!?!? Go back to your alternate dimension!

It's just the way that lefties beat anyone who doesn't love the EU, state intervention and unfettered immigration. "Ooh you must be a daily mail reader". Their hate for it matches the loathing that the right has for Polly Toynbee.
