norvandave
I was looking around for a definitive statement on hardware requirements, but couldn't find anything specific. I have a Pentium 4 2400 Mhz with a AGP 8x ATI 9500 graphics card. Will I need a new machine to run this?
Redwolf
The problem is that people's perception of what an acceptable framerate is varies greatly, and also you made no statement of what resolution and with what AA/AF settings you want to run this. Obviously a pretty low video card is good enough for low resolutions. Unless it is a Northwood core, a 2.4 GHz Pentium4 is generally a piece of junk (has been at the time of introduction with the low FSB). But my guess is that it'll be OK anyhow.
Lars
So if you were building a system, what would you throw in there, Redwolf? A lot of us will be in the market for an upgrade.
rudel.dietrich
The best stuff you can afford, toss it in there. The game throws alot of polygons your way and every little bit helps.
ChrisND
I just recenlty built: E6600 2.40 Ghz dual core, with am ASUS P5NSLI motherboard, nVidia 7950GT video card, 2 gigs of RAM, 160 gig hard drive. Cost me $1500, and this baby will run Theater of War with all maxed graphics settings and the highest resolution, and the highest AA / AT filters, without breaking a sweat.
Rick614
Normal Dude I just built one the end of Jan with the same thing except for a 7900GS with a bigger HD. When the price of the video card comes down I'll pop another one in. We should be set for CMSF.
Redwolf
Please search for "Intel" and "AMD" in the general forum and the ToW forum. We discussed this to death three times in the last months alone.
Matthias
to the fps crowd here, i don't belive cmsf will really worry there machines, i for one will have a quad core when they games comes out (if it comes out this year at all ) and the price of duel core computers will be cheap enough, the only thing that could slow cmsf down is if it can't multi thread... but for the 5 year old comps, CMSF will be the Tiger Tank to there crusader tank machine. (it might brew up)
Publius Cornelius Patton
Well, I'm set to get a dual-core 2.16 GHz iMac, so I hope it will be able to play CMSF and the other add-ons. And I'll be able to play the PC version, I hope! (At least I will be theoretically able to play CMBO again. )
