Madmatt
One of the many new features added with the latest v1.05 patch were all new Dynamic Lighting effects. While they are shown at all times, the effect really makes night combat an all new experience. To help show off the new effects, we have prepared seven different short videos which highlight how these new visuals appear with armored vehicles, missiles, explosions, small arms fire and even burning tanks! The seven videos are all in .wmv format and vary in length and size. Combat Mission Shock Force Video Gallery Madmatt
stikkypixie
Matt, do they affect spotting? I.e. standing next to a burning tank a night makes you easier to spot?
JOGR
No doubt neat visual effects like this is improving immersion. Great job! Large night battles with lots of burning vehicles, smoke everywhere, flashes from explosions and tracers flying about. CM:SF could easily run for "Best looking wargame 2008" (wargame as in realistic detailed tactical simulation that is). I just wish for a great soundmod to make this baby sound more intense. If nothing happens soon I will start working on one myself
MikeyD
I stumbled on an older CMSF video on Youtube that was entertaining. Camera went for 'reality' shots so no overflights or fancy overhead panning tricks. Makes the game look pretty real - and pretty scarey. http://www.youtube.com/user/triggerhappy57
JOGR
War is scary sh** and this video is a great demonstration of CM:SF visuals.
missinginreality
Now that dynamic lighting is included is there any chance of having streetlights working at night? Seems would be just as easy to include, if not more so, than burning objects?
