CMBO-AK res issues

After trying to reload all my CM games on my pc, I'm having the typical resolution issues with 2 of the 3 (CMBB runs just fine): 800x600 res required.

My video card is a ATI Radeon 9600 series running 8.342.0.0 driver version at the moment. If I remember correctly, this driver is around 8 months old. I started with the latest driver available and loaded progressively older ones up to this point, and still get the same error messages. When changing drivers, I wiped them with Driver Cleaner Pro. Directx 9.0 is also installed.

Am I missing anything?

Any help appreciated.

What does it do? Right now, mine only shows about half of the start-up screen (bleeding off the right) and then I get the message, (Game runs in 600 x 800 minimum resolution)

And no matter what resolution I put in, it still doesn't change.

Yes, that's exactly what happens. That is the typical 800 x 600 res error, which usually indicates an incorrect driver or another such video incompatability.

To repeat my question somewhat, how could an older video driver fix the res incompatability with CMBB, but not affect CMAK (a newer game than CMBB)? I should also state that this same computer has run all 3 games perfectly fine in the past, which leads me to think there is a driver issue. If anyone uses the same Radeon card and can run all 3 games, which driver are you using?
