Hello, i downloaded this game's demo, and i have to say im very thrilled to see finnaly a realistic tank simulator.

I can confirm this from my real life experience in the military service in the israely army as a Tank commander, im commanding the israely tank merkava MK2B

I am excited to finnaly play a game that simulates my dayly experiance in the service.

If it begines from orders to the tank's crew

and ends with a realistic gunner's scope.

I am very dissapointed from a few things:

1st: in my real life trainings as a tank commander, theyve teached me a few important things about the main idea of the tank.

A tank is an easy target to almost evry posible enemy units

it has alot of dissadvantages in the combat field.

Then again you sent me in a "commando" mission all by my self facing 2 T-55's and 3 t34's and im not mentioning the RPGers..

my main point in this frase is, sending a tank to a "commando" mission thats IMHO is wrong, tacticly..

althoguh I cant avoide saying that the Tanks are the main scorers in wars.

and that is becuase of their advantages.

a: 105 or 120 m"m cannon (long range)

usuing their range to eleminate enemy targets instead of rushing into them and losing their main advantage.

b: body armor for 7.62 m"m or less (that applies on the old soviets tanks ofcourse)

that can be a cool thing to remember when driving over an infantry carring a rifle..

its a shame that I am not alowed to publish my knowledge and the tactics ive earned in the israely army (with tanks).

but i can say IMHO that Tanks arnt made to walk alone they are heavly recommended to be escorted with infantry and air covering, because of their main dissadvantages.

2nd: in the "commando" mission i gota say its a joke to send 1 tank to a commando mission, and for what? for destroying a jeep...

its like choosing from your military units "Godzilla" to succeed in a "commando" mission (although in the "movie" it does pritty damn well).

And specially I hope you creaters know damn well that there are 2 sides ofcourse "the side that attackes" and the "side that deffends"

the side that attackes has to contain larger force than the side that deffends"

that is a well known lession in evry nation's army.

3rd: in the demo you guys published you train us in a T-72 and in the combat mission in the demo you bring us in a T-55A...

note: t-55A doesnt has a stabillizer and the turret has no hydraulic spin.

only in the improved T-55.

4th: the firing training is pritty nice and i loved the chopper target, although i dont believe in a digged firing position because your static and not dynamic.

about mission 4, mcommando;

the things you stated are verry true but i think the real aplication of tanks was somewhat different in this conflict than the "military rulebook" says.

there where some people here wich clamed that the have been there, from both sides, and they wrote some interesting additional info. they got banned/left or something else becouse they where posting "mostly" **** in between the information

i dont know who this guys where and if i can belive them but i do becouse it sounds acually verry reasonable for this conflict.

so i wont question some of the facts they told for now.

one thing i can remember clearly is that tanks did indeed got left behind, just to get picked up by an "peasent(not directly, but you know )" crew and they, more ore less, drove into the field with it. until something broke or the fuel ran out.

so with this "bad" conditions of organisation and "equipment care" + the spread out front´s wich loose to mostly none connections can lead to such a aplication of a tank in a civil war.

ofcourse i asume that

i also think that this mission is somekind of suicide mission. you would start it if you dont know what there is but yea, the goal is just to kill the officer... .

anyways, you are right from the "modern army" viewpoint but this cant be aplied to fullest here i think.

what do you think? as acuall one of the few "qualified" people here

heh, ok look first of all, the name is "Ben" good to know you Pandur.

i downloaed the demo and im surely gona go and buy the game, im looking forward to train online if there is any online gaming for this game i hope there is.

as you can see i gave at the first frase of my reply good previews because the bottom line is that this game is great , very very realistic and gives me a great challenge to succeed in it with your "commando" mission. "kidding"

but i agree on 1 thing in the cold war and in WW2 these tanks took a great part in em, and i can surely say that yes the modren army today learned it's tactics from the early age of tank's combat...

If my preview was a bit to harsh i appologize because this is The Game and im not kidding..

i played "battle zone 2" and bz1 for over 6 years and that is just beacause ur simulating a featured tank in space and bla bla bla

but the main ideal here is "tanks" and i admire em, although from my long military service i am very sick of em as you can imagine and i have 40 days left in the army and wohooo to civil life..

but tanks in my heart will stay there till the day i die because i learned to respect them.

they are the breaking point of evry historicle war and thats a fact.

plus i can asure you that even with the modern technology modern army's still invest huge amount of founds in Tank's development just because they know that
