Skook
Hi all, I had to change my HD recently and have been unable to get CMAK to install. Had only installed it the one time before and never had an issue. Every time I try it stops after a few minutes and I get an "I/O error 1" message and it quits. I do have NAV and it does the same thing regardless of wether or not the virus and firewall features are disabled. Would like to play this again and appreciate any and all advice, thanks PS other specs are: XP home / PIV 3.5 / ATI 9700 pro / SB Platinum / 1G ram / CD & DVD-R & RW drives / intel 850 MB.
Schrullenhaft
I would suspect the antivirus too. In this case it seems that just disabling it is not enough. I suggest booting into Safe Mode and that should hopefully allow you to install (but not run during that session) CMAK.
Skook
Hi Schrullenhaft Appreciate the help (as always), would you mind reminding me how to boot up in safe mode again please?
Schrullenhaft
When you reboot your computer you need to press the F8 key before the Windows logo shows up on your screen. You should be presented with a text-based menu and you'll have to scroll to the option to boot into SafeMode ('with Networking' should be fine too).
