gunnergoz
Hello, friends I'm about to upgrade my system and am looking at buying with the new unit an Nvidia 128MB card, either the 4400 or the 4600. Does anyone have experience with how they work with CMBB? I'll be installing it in a ASUS RAMBUS P4-253mhz system, BTW. Oh, yeah...which OS do you all prefer? I'm inclined to go with XP but home or pro? Thanks!
Sirocco
I'm building a P4 2Ghz, GeForce 4 TI4600 with 1Gb of DDR RAM, so I'm hoping for good things, but as I'm still waiting for the CPU and CMBB, I can't tell you how it all works out for now.
PiggDogg
Gunner, In early July 02, I built an AthlonXP 2100, 1 gig ram, & GF4-4200-128meg. My logic? With this high CPU, the 4200 should last for at least a year and maybe two and be able to handle any game coming out during the next year or two. In the year or two if I feel that I really need a super whammy new vid card (unlikely), I can buy a new super vid card at that time. Also at that time, I can put the 4200 into my old P2-400 with a TNT-16 meg vid card. Only an opinion. Cheers, Richard
Leather Suitcase
Apparently nVidia will be releasing its next generation chip maybe as early as December, so it might be worth hanging on a bit if you can in the hope of even more bangs for the buck.
