pad152
Modern Naval Battles- World War II at Sea I hear this based on a card game  I was hopping for Great Naval Battles meets Action Stations in 3D!
sparviero
I'm hoping it is something like Fighting Steel myself. Even a turned based version will do.
OpelBlitz
Gosh, I hope it's not Fighting Steel. I mean, I hope combat is a bit like it, but not the interface and bugginess.
Mr Ed
OpelBlitz, You every play "Fighting Steel Project"? That is the game fixed by a 3rd party group. http://www.navalwarfare.org/~content/fs.html Ed

sparviero
Yep tis fun just got it awhile ago. The only thing I could wish is that the Italian ships looked more like the pictures for this game. Although they do look a bit unreal, hopefully it will look better when they get some weathered effects on them or something. I have no artistic skill though so I have not a leg to stand on really. Frenchy
If all goes well will Modern Naval Battles expand to include the Cold War Period?
Darryl60
I'd rather see it expand to WW1 myself. Maybe through in a few of the "what if" ships that were either cancelled or scrapped because of the Washington Treaty.
Warship NWS
To Sparviero, if we can get a new 3D engine to work with the FS code then improving the ship graphics would be much more likely. Read our FSP Forum FAQ on the matters of the 3D ship graphics though. Thanks.
Dan Verssen
Frenchy, The Modern Naval Battles series began in the Cold War, but with the end of the Cold War, we didn't think that was a good time period to use for the computer game. My goal is for the WWII edition to do well, and then to branch out to other time periods, including WWI, modern day, sailing ships, and ancient ships. SpartanSniperAce
Can't say I would buy or download those, mainly because of the weaponry available at those times. And just wondering is there going to be ships like the Hood,Bismark,or Tirpitz?{don't tell me to go to a link it never works}
Frenchy
Spartan: Here's a ship list (tentative) for the game. Site works fine for me. http://www.battlefront.com/products/mnb/features.html
Dan Verssen
SpartanSniperAce, I can see your point about limited weaponry in sailing ship and ancient battles, but they do get to do some cool things that are not available in more modern eras. I look forward to having my snipers shoot enemy deck officers, sending my viking raiders across in a boarding action, or ramming at full speed into the side of an enemy war galley! SpartanSniperAce
Yeah that all sounds good but you forgot ramming. But I still prefer the 14 inch cannons firing on each other plus I a World War 2 fanatic. Thanks for the site Frenchy{Hope it works I got dial-up}
