The Royal Canadian Navy ????????

Recommended Posts

By the end of WWII the Royal Canadian navy was the third largest in the world. Mostly corvettes and destroyers tho, since convoy protection was its primary task. Some submarines & cruisers, & yes, one or two aircraft carriers I think, on loan from the British. Not entirely sure. I know we always had at least one postwar, from 1946 up to early 60s or thereabouts.

Anyway, given the importance of Canadian North Atlantic convoy escorts I certainly hope they'll be included.

The First Aircraft Carrier in The RCN was the H.M.S Nabob. She was Canadian-manned, British designed and American made.

The Nabob was torpedoed off the coast of Norway by U-354 on August 22, 1944 while hunting for the Terpitz. Two shots where fired that could sink her, one bow-one stern; the stern hit, but the bow shot was taken by the H.M.S. Bickerton, an escort destroyer that took the shot to save the carrier.

Canada's wartime navy was an integral part of world war II history. Including the RCN in this fine game would be grand.
