shmeter
Okay, I'm simply trying to install the MOD disc with the Special Edition disc CMBB and the message I get when I try is "System File not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications" What the *#!&? I'm not a computer genius or anything, but does that mean that laptop-640 RAM-can't handle this CD or something? It plays CMBB just fine by itself. What do I need to do?
GJK
I've seen this before when installing AVG Anti-Virus - because of a missing CONFIG.NT or AUTOEXEC.NT. Do a search on your harddrive for AUTOEXEC.NT. If you locate it and it is not in your SYSTEM32 folder of your WINDOWS directory, copy it there. I.E., to c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ You can extract a copy from your WinXP/Win2k CD if you don't have it on your system anywhere. shmeter
Thanks for the suggestion and the LINK. After many long hours of futzing around the autoexec.nt file I was able to get it pasted into the SYSTEM32 folder without it getting rid of it when I restarted the computer. Finally, it all loaded in. Thanks again!
GJK
Glad that worked! I just happened to recall seeing that same error in AVG anti-virus install and figured it was related.
