Hubert Cater
For those that have noticed any sort of game speed issues or video card issues, thanks to Peter (SC2 player from Germany) there is now a temporary workaround that may apply to your situation: Try running the game in DirectX Emulation mode. Click Start->Run from your taskbar and typing in DXDIAG. This will launch the DirectX diagnostic tool. From here select the 'Display' tab and then look for the line that says DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled. Next to this line click the button named 'Disable' and then exit. WARNING: Running the game in DirectX Emulation mode is an advanced option and should only be done once all other options have been exhausted. NOTE: This may also disable your Direct3D Acceleration so if you have games that rely on 3D acceleration you will want to re-enable DirectDraw Acceleration as needed. * * * In the meantime I am testing an in game solution that should hopefully not require players to run DXDIAG to resolve the issue. Miech
Thought I was the only one with an extreme lag:). Hope it is solved soon. Currently playing the Barbarossa indepth scenario, and for the AI to finish, it takes about 10-15 minutes. Great scenario by the way, I find it pretty hard as Germans
Hubert Cater
Miech, your issue sounds like a different one that has to do with AI speed and not game scroll speed etc. IIRC the Barbarossa campaign has quite a few units so that may explain why it takes a while for the AI to play through its turn. Hope that helps, Hubert
SeaMonkey
Hubert I went to the display tab for the DirectX Diagnostic tool, but unfortunately there is no selection to disable the DirectDraw Acceleration. Searched around for another way to get that done without success.....any suggestions, I'm running Vista. It seems my Geforce 8600M GT graphics card does not allow changes to the hardware acceleration settings. Perhaps if I move the slider to Performance away from Quality in my 3D settings? Hubert Cater
I see the issue and it looks like Vista no longer supports adjustments or tests of DirectX functionality using DXDIAG. See this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DxDiag I have an in game solution that seems to resolve the issue. Would you like to test it for Vista to see if it helps? If so please send me an email at support@furysoftware.com Hubert
Miech
I thought the amount of units played part in it. The game in Fall Weiss is a lot quicker in 1939 then in 1942. I do not seem to have problems with Vanilla, only with WaW Found a bug against the AI too. Germans attacking fighter in London, damaging it, but then a second 'explosion' gives the unit health. Was about 8 times in a row. Don't have the game anymore, but could be worthwhile. Played axis on expert, no exp bonus and a small bit of fiddling with the standard scripts (no editor). Patch 1.03. Hope it helps for 1.
Hubert Cater
Miech, This bug should be fixed for the v1.04 patch as well as the new speed issue/fix option. Hubert
