TheMAC
System: Sony Vaio Notebook GR114EK Processor: Intel PIII-M 866 MHz Videocard: ATI Radeon Mobility M6 - 8MB DDR Mouse: Synaptics Touchpad OS: Windows XP Pro All with newest drivers. Symptom: The Mousecursor begins to glimmer and glitch when i have choosen the map to play and the game switched to the 3D-MAP. Before is all allright. Around the cursor seems to be a square and in this square are glimmer some black pixels. All white text on the screen have some white glimmer at the surroundings. First time i see the glimmering Mouse-Cursor is when the Software asked fpr the resolution (tested all resolutions - every time the same). I have tested all solutions posted by others in this forum to similarly cases. But nothing helped. Other games using DirectX i have tested, making no problems. I hope someone can help me. Schrullenhaft
This is most likely an issue with the video drivers. I'm not sure if there is anything that you can do other than to make sure that you are not using any special/animated cursors, but only the 'Windows Default/Standard' ones. The glimmer around white-colored items sounds somewhat similar to a problem that the NVidia chips have under Win2K/XP, but I believe that this is a slightly different issue. Unfortunately you'll probably only be able to get the ATI Rage Mobility drivers directly from Sony, so that would be your only source (which you've already updated from). I'm not sure what kind of DirectX controls you may have for your Rage Mobility. Typically ATI doesn't provide much in the way of useful user settings in the control panels (such as Mip-mapping levels, etc.). It might be worth it to download an ATI Rage tweaker program to see if it will offer any possible settings that may reduce the 'glimmering' that you're experiencing. This most likely may not work with your Rage Mobility, but it may be worth a try. Just in case something goes wrong you may want to backup any important files or be prepared for a full reinstall of your OS. Rage Underground Rage 128 Tweaker If this doesn't work, then I'm not sure if any tweakers are out there that would support the Rage Mobility family (which I believe are derived from chipsets from the Rage Pro to Rage 128 Pro).

Schrullenhaft
Ooppss... I wasn't reading close enough there. There is a Radeon Tweaker utility available and as I mentioned before I'm not sure of it's support or effect on the Mobility versions of the ATI line.
