Guest wwb_99
I recently upgraded my box to with a new HDD and went with a clean install of win 98. It seems to be a big mistake, because while CM runs fine in most respects the 3d graphics go haywire any time I switch tasks. Quite simply, I will hit [ESC] and drop to the desktop. Then I reopen the game, and the graphics flash, to the point that my desktop is still visible, and degenerate as you move the map. I tried forcing anti-aliasing, but that had the effect of just forcing the graphics to flash immediately rather than after a task swap. I have also tried un-overclocking with no effect. I have tried to switch drivers but it has no effect on CM (downgrading to 6.31 made Counterstrike work tho). My Current System Celeron 533A running at 800 196mb SDRAM Inno3d GeForce2 MX/ 32mb DDRAM Win98 SE Dx 7a and nVidia 6.31 drivers Any help would be greatly appreciated. Guest wwb_99
Arien, you are correct. I had heard that Dx8 was buggy, so decided to avoid it on the recent upgrade. However, when I moved up to version 8.0a, last night it solved the problem. Thanks for your help and a public thanks to Madmatt for his help last night.
