Dulak
So I'm playing my first game here vs the computer. So I have control of italy; but they are not in the war yet? is that correct? If I remember right it said something about 65% or something like that. So whats the best way to handle italy at the start. Is it beneficial to use germany chits on italy? or just try to build up their research? Or is it best to hope they dont join soon and see how far you can get with germany? Does SC2 work like SC1 where each country that joined the axis that made the US and the USSR join the allies faster?
Blashy
Italy is neutra leaning Axis, so you can build units, prepare for war actions, invest in research. Using German diplomacy for a faster joining of Italy is up to you, try it . Italy joining does not affect USA/USSR.
Sombra
Blashy any way to put units in guard /sleep modus for a still neutral country though I don´t have to cycle through every unit again and again with the next unit key?
Blashy
No, carefull, such a feature could make you forget to look at such units in the future.
Sombra
Well if I need a unit I will look for it. Right now without this function for me at least the next unit key loses 60% of it worth
Dulak
Thanks Blashy for the info and Sombra this will probably be annoying before italy enters the war but after it wont be as much of a issue (although for units that you want to just sit there (ie guarding a city) I could see how this feature would be beneficial. jon_j_rambo
I love Blashy's answer!
Blashy
I never used the next unit key myself, I browse the map, whatever was not used in anyway has his little icon flashing. And by browsing it keeps you from possibly forgetting areas.
jon_j_rambo
I believe the complete opposite. Browsing is how you will forget areas, while the "Next Key" will take you there. Whatever the world believes, believe oppositie. Trust not the men of this world.
Desert Dave
What one rambo hand giveth: I love Blashy's answer! The imposing opposing hand of rambo taketh away: I believe the complete opposite. I call it... the modus Idaho operandi.
TaoJah
IT would indeed be a nice feature to have an "ignore" option on units : when you activate the option, the unit doesn't show up on the next unit list. But I only use the next unit thingy on occasion, usually I browse, so it's not that big of a deal.

Jon Patrick
Hi group, I'm Jon [hi Jon!] I'm here today because. <sniffle> I'm a browser! Yes, I 'browse' the SC2 map, hoping to see all my units that I wanted to move or reinforce during France's viscious counterattack. And, sometimes..... I miss a unit. What? What?! there's a "next unit" button! I thought I saw that, but I never tried it! It'll help me not miss a unit.. wow. Thanks guys, ya'll are great!
