gravyface1
Has anybody found any use for these things besides u-boat hunting? For their cost (getting close to a 1000 mpp, with all updates and strength additions), and how long they take to construct, they're hardly worth it. Maybe I'm missing something. arado234
They can still launch air strikes. They can be used to support troops moving along the coast. They can move and attack.I would never try to replace them if they are sunk but i sure do have alot of uses for them. Liam
Say that when that last carrier strike kills off a Panzer sitting near the coast of Brest. Carrier's are still quite powerful for hitting a unit that is encircled at sea which cannot be destroyed by Cruiser or Battleships alone... However all this is more realistic. WW2 Carriers didn't kill land units, they shouldn't be able to even now.
Edwin P.
They are great for spotting enemy naval units; that is if the Axis decides to wage a battle for the Atlantic or if the Italian navy breaks out into the Atlantic. That said, in most games the naval battles are a side show and the Axis usually concedes the Atlantic to the Allies.
ChrisND
Carriers RULE. I upgrade their Long Ranger as high as I can. Exceptionally useful, but remember, they ain't friggin tank groups dont use them as such
hellraiser
ND is right - upgrade only LR, never bother with jet tech - they will suck vs land based air big time even if upgraded. Spotting, hitting naval units, softening up garrisons prior to D-day, are examples of their use. They are uselful but no way near the uber carriers of SC1. Which is normal after all. Colin I
Carriers are useful, particularly when grouped. One use not mentioned above is attacking ships in harbour - ask Arado - I sunk two of his cruisers this way that were in Copenhagen and Kiel harbours They just can't do what modern carriers do but thats hardly surprising.
