Mac LAN - can't find IP address

I have two Macs (G4/400 and IMac 350) on a LAN with a Linksys router. I have been unable to configure the machines for LAN play - the client machine cannot find the host.

I have set port forwarding on both machines for 7023 and later for 7022~7024. I have tried local IP addresses (192.168 etc) as well as the host machine's actual IP address.

Nothing works - internet access from both machines is otherwise flawless, so they are configured properly. The latest system extensions from v1.1 are installed in both machines.

Any suggestions? I'm getting tired of just playing the computer...
