Specter102
Hi all, I am having issues connecting through my dsl line and tcp/ip games. I get a connection to the game but then it times out. I have no firewall. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!
Schrullenhaft
I'll probably be unable to offer any helpful advice here. If the games you're having problems with allow you to connect directly to your opponent's IP, then you can probably run a 'trace route' and see what kind of latencies are involved with the hops to get to your opponent. Your DSL provider may have a very high latency that may cause packets to drop/time out (though that should be rare). Does your DSL modem offer any built-in diagnostics that you can run ? Some units have a 'web page' built in to administer and test them.
