C.M.O.T. Dibbler
I'm just wondering (as I'm designing a scenario containing it), how large/small should the various fields surrounded by bocage be? And how irregular are/where they? -Anders
Grunto IV
i think they're generally square fields, 100-200m across. they were found mainly in the u.s. sectors and not the british. you might want to break up the bocage with woods too. ...all generalizations but hopefully of some help... andy
Pzman
I am working on a Normandy Scenario Pack most of the historical info I have found was that it was all over. Large built up heg groves round small feilds and former feilds.
Wild Bill Wilder
From all the pics I've seen (never been there), the fields are of varying size, very irregular. If I were going to describe it (besides "deadly," it would be just that: irregular. Some large, others small, scattered here and there, hooked up by hedgerows, all different sizes and shapes. If you can find some history books with pics of hedgerows, it will help you a lot! WB
MikeT
I just sent you some cmbs based on the HedgeRow Hell maps from the wargame we cannot mention. They should give you some ideas. MikeT
