Lucky_Strike
Hi all, Just been revisiting CMBO lately and decided to do a new Panther G mod. I will hopefully do a few variations once I've ironed out the wrinkles. Anyway comments welcome - you can view more pics here. Cheers LS
Jack Carr
I don't play CMBO much anymore but this is a pretty slick mod. I'm sure this will look great in the upcoming CMAK game. Looks good!
Lucky_Strike
Thanks - I may 'port' it to CMBB if I can find some detailed ref for the base artwork of the deck and a few other angles. Thinking of CMAK I'm gonna dig out some interesting Italian campaign camo jobs. Have now posted dunkelgelb versions at link above. MikeT
PLease make sure you do release it for CMBO and I will do a CMMOS version of it. Always glad to have an extra mod other there. I might even do some number changes and create a G late version. MikeT
Dressler
Wow... they both look fantastic. Can't wait to download them when you're done! Good job!

Lucky_Strike
Thanks for all the encouraging comments. I'm really keen to get this mod out there, but I can't stop tinkering with it. I think I'll have to do a version 1 release and then add some variations later. I'm just looking at some interesting 12th SS Panzer camo schemes - so that may be another version. I was already thinking of the work you've been doing for CMMOS and CMBO - for which we are all eternally grateful - I will probably add a few basic markings to the initial release. I was also thinking about adding a 'late' version, but haven't yet decided about the running gear - steel-rimmed or rubber-rimmed - from what I can gather the steel-rimmed variant wasn't necessarily the 'late' variant. The main changes seem to be the main gun mantle, the exhausts and extra engine-to-crew heat extractor on the rear deck. Anyway I'll probably do a set of steel-rimmed wheels for both the G and G-late so the player can decide. Cheers LS
MikeT
LS, from a CMMOS point of view you can make the mod as complicated as your wish with as many options as you wish. MikeT
HeinzBaby
Excellent work on the 'photo finish' textures LS, can't wait to use them

Lucky_Strike
I've just posted a few snaps of the dunkelgelb zimmerit(ted?) version same address as before. I've kept it pretty subtle, but I still have to work on the scaling a bit more - it's not easy when the various 'facets' of the mod are at differnt resolutions/scales. Also drawing zimmerit is a really tedious task. A couple more variations and I should be ready to release version 1. Once again thanks for all the encouragement you guys. I'm also looking at a scheme for a 1st SS LSSAH Pz Div, used in Normandy, which is a sort of 'cloud' effect. There are so many great looking schemes out there it's difficult to decide ... Peter Panzer
...nothing less than first rate, especially the zimmerit version. Your textures will eagerly be applied to my .bmp set the moment they are posted - thanks Lucky.

Lucky_Strike
Thanks again guys - much appreciated. Okay I've done the ambush camo version: (couple more pics at usual place ) Will now just make some final tweaks and add some markings and then release these babies. I'm still planning to do one or two more variations (1st SS, winter etc), but those will have to wait for a few weeks whilst I earn my keep. I'm gonna package them one per zip - they are high res so downloads could become unweildy for 56K users - also I can gauge which schemes are more popular. MikeT
Looking good, this will make a useful addition to all the Panthers I have in the CMMOS project. BTW, I did the winter Panther with the white and brown staggered pattern of yours. Nicely done. MikeT

Thanks Mike, but not sure what winter Panther you're referring to - I've not done one yet - I did do a winter version of KwazyDog's CMBO Tiger I which is over at cmmods (my first mod). I think you might be referring to the excellent Panther mods by Josh Singer? Anyway, as I mentioned I will be doing a winter version asap. Dandelion
Fine work of art Lucky, again. Its almost a problem that the Panther now looks so real it sort of cartoonises much of the surrounding. It struck me, what building mod are you using? The one visible in the background of the Panther pics? Regards Dandelion

The one visible in the background of the Panther pics? Thanks Dandelion - I guess I'll just have to mod the whole game to get over the cartoon effect The buildings mod is Alec (Magua) Wade's Normandy set - one my favourites. I use Don (Panzertruppen) Maddox's winter set for snow scenes. I think you can get them both over at Combat Mission HQ probably in the CMMOS area - in fact yes take a look here Cheers LS
GJK
This is a sweet looking mod! I was looking at your pics on your site and saw this one and said "yeah, his model looks really close to this original picture he must of taken at a museum or something", then I looked closer and said "wow, that is another mod pic!!". It was the building that gave it away! Great stuff!

Thanks GJK - that is praise indeed Okay guys I have posted the first in the series over at cmmods - it's the tri-colour version I did first - I've tweaked the colour so it's a bit darker and added some markings for 11th pz Div. Enjoy! LS
MikeT
LS, have you decided how many mods you will be doing? I am working up tonight the first CMMOS version and I would prefer to have them line up one after the other. MikeT
