T34-85 model1943

This is an actual copy of a T34-85 that is in a museum near me,The Imperial War Museum North.

I was quite surprised being an engineer myself at how poorly the tank was constructed,with poor welding and badly fitted armour plating.They must have built them at a hell of a rate!

BTW The Imperial War Museum North is absolutely A1 in my book,a very very different experience to what I was expecting.If you are visiting Britain Give it a look in.

They even have the bell of the Lusitania and the first gun to fire in The Great War

Its definately a museum of the 21st century

I have the impression that the workmanship of lots of Russian tanks was medicocre. I remember seeing a picture of an IS-II for example (in tact, not knocked out) and it looked like it was barely able to hold itself together. It looked like a 122mm gun with some slag iron put around it.

On the other had, I've seen some pictures of Russian tanks with apparently good construction, though I am no engineer.
