reformat question

Recommended Posts

Well, I have been thru (actually am still doing) the reformat from hell today.

You do not need to repartition you drive, which is what FDISK is used for. You need to format your drive. Presuming this is a secondary drive (i.e. not the one running windows or typically your C drive) you can do it pretty easily by right clicking and choosing 'format.'

If not, you need a DOS boot disk with the program format.com (somewhere in the Windows folder, blanking on exactly where and don't have a non-NT machine handy to check) on it. It also would be a good idea to make one which will recognize your CDs drives without needing the hard drive.
