Michael Dorosh
Are we still discussing this (for the hell of it)? Finally found this on the net, always wondered what it was called. I know we were discussing music for CMBB... It worked for Sam Peckinpah....replace the Midi version with some real music and you might have something. Franz Wiedemann 1821-1882 1. Tr. Frank 1999 Little John He has gone Out to see the world alone Staff and hat, Look at that, He's one happy cat. But his mommy cries a lot Now she has no Johnny got. "Fortune find, But you mind, Come back to your kind." Seven years, Joy and tears, John in many lands appears. Then he thought That he ought To go home and got - But now he's no Johnny small, No, he is now big John tall. Tall and tanned, Face and hand. Will they know this man? One, two, three Pass and see, Don't know who this man might be. Even Sis: "Who is this?" Knows not who he is. Then along comes mother dear, Barely sees his eyes so clear, Says: "My son, Welcome home, God bless you my son." Or a shorter, less shopping mall version... It never fails, you hear these cool sounding German songs in movies without knowing what they mean, they you finally see the words and are bowled over at how sappy and sweet they are. Anyone ever seen the movie MACKENZIE BREAK? Remember the German PWs singing the song at the beginning of the movie? Kind of blew me away to realize what the words to that one were, too. Commissar
It should be something Soviet like, "Nazi Fascists, Eat My Soiled Shorts!" or "Do You Have A Spare Transmission For My T-34?" Berlichtingen
I've always liked Hänschen klein, but something like Svyachennaya Voina would sound better for CMBB
Gyrene
I agree it should be a Russian tune. The Germans were the bad guys after all. (Despite of what many misguided wargamers think) Gyrene
ham
Both of them were the bad guys actually. Therefore it should be finnish song =).

Prinz Eugen
I´d say it HAS to be the national anthem of Russia. It has it´s own "atmosphere" to it, and is easily recognizeable. And after all, the Russians won it so they get to choose...

Sitzkrieg
Is it just me or does the "shorter" version sound like the intro music to "Frogger"? Keith
Panzer_Meyer
I ageee with Prinz Eugene, it should be the Russian National Anthem. That song sets the tune perfectly, at least for me it does.
Michael Dorosh
I really wasn't hoping to open the whole retarded debate on CMBB's title music, just found it interesting fo finally find the words and music to the opening to Cross of Iron; I am glad at least one person caught the reference. Pine59
Michael or anyone, do you know the name of the other song that is mixed in with "Little John" in the COI intro? Sounds like a march but I've never been able to identify it. Interestingly enough, my daughter has a toy steering wheel that in addition to horn sounds, ignition sounds and a siren also plays "Hanschen Klein".
