Rob Murray
Does anyone know which processes are safe to kill in Windows XP? I'd like to see if I can speed up the load time for movies in CMBB/CMAK. I know some of the stuff is vital " in order for the computer to live " ( ie. not crash ). I'm just trying to see what I could possibly get away with. Thanks. P.S. I've got 512 RAM in a P4 2.0 GHz processor & I know it's got nothing to do with the video card ( I'm upgrading from a 64 MB to a 128 anyway - I want to be able to use more foliage or damage in some scenarios ). Redwolf
You should first see whether these processes are using any CPU time at all. Idle userland processes do not slow things down.
