Guest ajsl
Hi, I'm having trouble hosting/connecting a TCP/IP game. If I host the game, all is fine until I get a connection at which time CMBO promptly crashes with an "unhandled exception error". This happens consistently with the chap I was trying to play. When attempting to connect to a server I just get failures to connect. All the TCP/IP addresses are correct (checked and triple checked) and I've played TCP/IP before on this set-up, though not recently. My machine is as follows : PC running CMBO v1.12 (latest version) Win2k Pro - SP1 GeForce 1 DDR v6.47 drivers (as approved in the readme) 256Mb RAM No virus checkers/firewalls etc. All other TCP/IP applications work (online Half-Life, Quake, IE etc). The error is consistent with this chap, through re-boots and re-connects. I've done a re-install of CMBO (and then re-patched it) giving the same result. Any ideas ? Cheers, Alex.

Schrullenhaft
Can you attempt to play someone you've played before via TCP/IP in CM ? If this connection gives you problems, then something has changed about your setup. If you can connect with someone else in CM, then there is something about your current opponent's ISP or their setup that is preventing them from hooking up with you.

You could get an error like that if the OpenPlay module was corrupted. Make sure that a file named "OpenPlay.dll" is in your Combat Mission folder at the same level as "Combat Mission.exe"' Make sure that there is a folder named "OpenPlay Modules" in your Combat Mission folder at the same level as "Combat MIssion.exe". Make sure that this folder contains a file named "TCIPIP.dll". If that does not help then go to your CD or to your patch file and reintall those files and that folder. If that does not help and if you are using the patch then download the patch again and try fresh versions of those files. ------------------ Best regards, Major H majorh@mac.com
