Voodoo5 FSAA problem on Win2000

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am having a problem getting FSAA on my V5500 to work with Combat Mission under Windows 2000.

Works fine under '98 (and looks amazing) but whatever settings I use FSAA won't work under 2000, it just starts up in standard non FSAA mode.

Anyone else come across this and if so is there a solution ?

Thanks,

Vandal.

I don't have a V5500 to check your problem with, but I believe this may be an issue between the V5500's drivers and the DirectX implementation in Win2K. It seems that DirectX under Win2K is different in a couple respects to that of Win9x. It's possible that the way drivers fit into the structure of Win2K causes some problems with the feature functionality of the drivers.

Here's the latest drivers for the V 4 & 5 series (v. 1.03.00; 9-29-00):

Have you run any of the Windows 2000 Updates yet, like SP1 ? I don't know of any particular issues that may apply here, but you may want to run the Windows Update and download some of the patches (there's one for VIA based motherboards too).
