Operation Reserves or Scheduled?

Recommended Posts

I have done a search and I am not happy with what I found.

All you Operation designers I would like some suggestions on how to set up reserves for an operation. Can you use a combination of the two? Scheduled and Reserves.. Need some feedback.

The project I am doing is instilling the PBEM rules of 75 by Fion, We are trying to set up a large TCP/IP game at Batallion Plus,

Recon elimates with follow-on elimates of Batallion in subsequent battles. Using two day battles to one night battle witha total of 10 battles.

We are using Historic OOB from both sides that fit the above rules, but i would like to have some reserves as well.

Your comments will be helpful.

Michael

P.S. I have devoured the CM manual as will.

Michael,

Yes you can mix and match!

When you allocate Reserves you can have them arrive on a certain turn (% probability from turn X onwards) or you can allocate them as Bn, Regt or Div reserves (which are released to you depending on your situation - ie if everything is going fine you get nothing).

There are a limited number of slots for reserves (6 I think) and you can allocate a grouping to either role.

So in your OP you can have your on map recce elm, reserve 1 arriving on Battle 2 as the van guard, reserve 2 arriving on Battle 3 as the main guard, reserve 3 arriving on Battle 4 as the main body with a Bn, Regt or Div Reserve.

So if your Recce elm gets creamed you may get the Bn reserve before the van guard turns up.

I have an OP I dreated myself with thes options built in (don't worry about balance etc - this was mainly to test the process).

I'll email it you tonight.

Anxiously awaiting the G4 PowerBook
