Kanonier Reichmann,

Done! Check your E-mail. You too, Londoner.

Kingfish,

If one is in a hot fight at close range and one's squad can't take it and surrenders, doesn't the squad march to its captors, rather than simply disappearing? I had several incidents in one fight where men's morale failed, they went "captured" and simply vanished while in plain sight and in one case, on open ground. Watched the movie several times just to make sure. This may be normal, but if not, I've got a file you need to see.

Regards,

John Kettler

As long as your units have LOS to the surrender monkey it will be visible, and listed as 'captured'. The moment your units lose LOS it disappears. I suspect thats what happened, but won't know until I see the movie.

Send it on over if you like

I assume you must be talking about our fight John based on the intense battles to date. BTW, I agree. It seems every time my men get close to yours they simply disappear!

;)

A few words on AARs...

When the final scores are submitted we will want to know who the winners are, as well as tranisition into the finals as quickly and smoothly as possible. With that in mind, I strongly recommend that you work on your AARs as you play, rather than wait to finish your games and then try and cram 5 AARs at once.

Even having a running rough draft, in which you enter a few sentences after each turn, will help you a great deal in the long run. It spreads the assignment out over several weeks, as opposed to several days, as well as allows you to jot down certain events while they are still fresh in your mind.

There are several advantages to this, the most obvious being it speeds things up for all involved. The actual scores calculation takes very little time. Its really nothing more than entering data into a spreadsheet and having the modified Nabla formula spit out a score. The 'holdup' is in the AARs. Consider that each AAR has to be evaluated individually. There are 72 players. Multiply by 5 each and we are talking around 360 AARs. Without these I cannot announce the winners, as the scores are not complete until we add in the AAR bonuses.

So, my question to you all is...

When the final scores are in would you like to see me announce the winners, or would you like to hear me say I am still waiting on 30-40 AARs?

I believe Kingfish's question is rhetorical. He is just placing emphasis on the fact that after all the games are completed, the quicker we turn in our AARs the quicker he can release final scores. Which, as he implies, is something we will all want.
