John Kettler Posted August 21, 2006 Author Share Posted August 21, 2006 The first one was, on balance, quite impressive, with lots of new material. Was regrettably weak on France '40, though. Terrific Western Desert stuff, to include some wonderful footage of an 88 firing while on its wheels, but with the legs dropped for balance. That said, this is NOT a battle by battle discussion. Rather, it's more about Rommel and how he fit into the overall war and Nazi propaganda. No coverage really of Gazala, Battleaxe, Crusader, etc. The next segment, Rommel the Doubter, is on now (3 p.m. PDT), but has already stranded his advance at El Alamein.
